Credit Guide

Important information about how we are authorised, the credit assistance we provide, and the fees and commissions involved.

Version 1.0 · Last updated May 2026

This Credit Guide is provided by Wood & Weiss in accordance with the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (NCCP Act). It explains who we are, the credit assistance we provide, the fees and commissions involved, and what to do if you have a complaint. Please keep it for your records.

Who we are

Wood & Weiss Pty Ltd (ABN 49 671 532 559) provides credit assistance as a Credit Representative (Credit Representative Number 553605) of QED Credit Services Pty Ltd, the holder of Australian Credit Licence Number 387856.

Your credit advisers are Jeff Wood and Moishe Weiss. You can contact us at:

The credit assistance we provide

We provide credit assistance by suggesting or assisting you to apply for a credit contract or consumer lease with a lender, or to increase the limit of an existing facility. We help you compare options, prepare and lodge your application, and manage the process through to settlement.

Acting in your best interests

As mortgage brokers, we are subject to the Best Interests Duty. This means we are legally obliged to act in your best interests when providing credit assistance for home loans, and to give priority to your interests if a conflict of interest arises. Our recommendations are based on your requirements, objectives and financial circumstances.

The lenders we work with

We have access to a panel of more than 40 lenders, including major banks, customer-owned banks and specialist non-bank lenders. While our panel is broad, we do not have access to every lender or every product available in the market. The lenders we use most frequently, and the lender we recommend for you, will be disclosed in your Credit Proposal. A full list of our panel lenders is available on request.

Fees you may pay

For most residential home loans you will not pay us a fee for our credit assistance — we are paid a commission by the lender (see below). Where a fee does apply — for example on some commercial or complex applications — we will tell you the amount, or how it is calculated, and when it is payable, before you proceed. Any such fees are set out in your Credit Quote and Credit Proposal.

Commissions we receive

If your loan settles, the lender generally pays us a commission. This usually comprises an upfront commission (a percentage of the loan amount) and may include a trail commission (a percentage of the outstanding balance, paid periodically over the life of the loan). These amounts vary between lenders and products. The actual commissions payable in connection with your loan are disclosed to you in your Credit Proposal before you proceed.

Commissions and benefits we pay

We may pay a referral fee to a third party who refers you to us, such as an accountant, financial planner or real estate agent. Where a referral arrangement applies to you, we will disclose it.

If you have a concern or complaint

We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and promptly. Please see our Complaints & Dispute Resolution page for how to raise a complaint with us, and for details of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), our free external dispute resolution scheme.
